Can you believe it's been a year since we drank Ugly Mugs coffee and waited for the rain to subside and play tennis with wooden racquets while dressed like Richie the Bomber or Billie Jean King? Well it's that time again. This year we are hoping to raise even more money for Isaac Litton Middle School and have even more fun on the court. Though the competition was fun last year market research has told us many of you would like to play some tennis but could care less about playing a whole match (even if abbreviated) so tis year we are going to a more relaxed schedule of timed sessions of 30 minutes or so and teams can play as many or few of those sessions as they'd like. We are still encouraging each doubles team to make a monetary donation to Isaac Litton Middle School via paypal or cash on the day of the event. Food will be available again this year with proceeds going to ILMS. We are adding an umpire chair/stage so if you know a local musician, band, personality, character who'd like to "umpire" a session that would be great. Also anyone looking to volunteer we will have some opportunities involving sessions for kids to play during the day. Come out on May 9th from 8am-12:00(noon) play some tennis, compete in old school tennis outfit competition, eat some BBQ(or Veggie Burger) and support the best Middle School on Earth(You Tolkien to me?).
The IRTC is a cultural sports happening that provides an opportunity for your inner old-school tennis champion to relive their glory days and to raise money for Isaac Litton Middle School

Coming to the Litton Tennis Courts in the Spring of 2014
Saturday May 10th-2014
The IRTC will be WOODEN RACQUET ONLY doubles play. There are two courts at Litton so one court will be for beginners/fashion participants and the second court will be for those really channeling their inner Bjorn Borg or Billie Jean King. The idea for this tennis happening is loosely based off a childhood of watching Wimbeldon and playing tennis with my family at the Litton Courts in the mid-1980's and of course Luke Wilson's character from the Royal Tennenbaums.
There will be at least two trophies awarded. Best outfits (for a team) and Grand Champions(winners of tennis).
This tennis happening is ultimately meant as a way to have some fun but also a way to raise some money for our home team middle school-Isaac Litton.
$50.00 per pair is the suggested amount to donate but feel free give more. We will also not turn any players away based on how much they have to give or who show up to the court they usually play on to find all of us dressed up like Rosie Casals.
We welcome the conversation from local, national and international businesses and organizations about donations to Isaac Litton Middle School.
